Charity Boxes

It has been a busy start to September as the holiday period comes to an end. Booking in jobsOur production manager has been keeping a close eye on manufacture and deliveries. He is in the picture to the right booking in a job with one of our customers. We have a computer station setup in the warehouse to access our system. This enables delivery note printing, loads to booked in and out onto the vehicles and much more that ensures the smooth and efficient running of our ‘goods out’.

I would like to use this blog to discuss Jesus Cares, I took a call from Pastor Dave Edwards who explained to me about the work of Jesus Cares, which was setup by King’s Church. They work directly with local project workers in the community, to help families who have no money to feed themselves and their children. This is done by making up hampers which contain non perishable food items that would otherwise be sent to landfill as well Nappies, Toiletries, Baby Food, Children’s Clothes, Easter Eggs and Christmas gifts. Currently they distribute over 2000 hampers per month.Jesus Cares

All these items are packed into boxes and Nuttall Packaging was pleased to donate a selection of different size boxes to help the cause. Dave and another volunteer Mark drove up from South Wales to collect the boxes and from the short time I got to speak to them it was easy to see how passionate and committed to the Jesus Cares charity they are.

Incredibly since 2009 they have given in excess of 69700 hampers. This equates to over 2.5 million tins of food, 53500 nappies, 3000 Easter eggs and 900 clothing packs. In May 2012 they received funding of £250,000 from the Big Lottery. For more information you can visit Jesus Cares
